Protection System
Implement a protection system using Rockwell Automation XM series of modules and software. Any combination of modules can give you protection for temperature, axial, radial, case expansion, differential expansion, and electronic over speed. Rockwell's system can automatically store complex data (waveform and spectrum) and overall values to trend machine health when used with Emonitor software. See real time waveforms and spectral data from your desk when problems arise. Rockwell's XM series modules are all API 670 compliant when correct programming and additional equipment is used. Vibration Analysis
Rotating machines such as fans, pumps, motors and turbines vibrate when they are operating. The cause of this vibration can be determined using accelerometers and electronic hardware. Using a 2 channel analyzer most problems can be determined: • Resonance • Loose foot • Bearing Problems • Imbalance • Misalignment |
Condition Monitoring
Also known as Predictive Maintenance, which is using the appropriate technology to monitor machine conditions to detect anticipated future failures. A few examples of condition monitoring technology would be vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and ultra-sonic testing. This results in giving the equipment owner time to schedule and perform maintenance and lower operating costs. Implementing a program requires each machine to be assisgned a criticality and then implement the necessary condition monitoring techniques to be used. This may range from run to failure to 24 hour online monitoring systems. A successful program will also use Precision Maintenance. This involves using using a combination of precision aligning and balancing along with root cause analysis. Not only fix the problem but also determine why it failed and ways to mitigate future failures. |
